Manifestation – a big one

21 August 2009

My wife and I both got into the Abraham teachings at the same time, via separate routes. For me, Ask And It Is Given was one of those books that seemed to want me to buy it when I was browsing in a bookshop one day. In my wife’s case, she had been reading a different book entirely but noticed that it had been inspired by “the Hickses of Texas”. We tracked down the reference and found that it was Esther and Jerry Hicks, authors of Ask And It Is Given. Esther is the medium who channels the group-being known as Abraham.

I have written previously in my spiritual journal on our first experiments with manifestation and the law of attraction.

This manifestation stuff really works!

9 August 2007

Inspired by the Abraham books and one of the Orin/Daben books, I decided to try my hand at deliberate creation (rather than just maintaining the best possible inner state, which has been going very well – see earlier Manifestation posts in my spiritual journal). I should have kept specific dates, in good scholarly fashion, but here is what has happened so far.

The money connection

8 August 2007

One of the key developments I have made so far in 2007 is (re)discovering the books of Sanaya Rowan and Duane Packer, who channel beings known as Orin and Daben. Their writing speaks to me very directly – it has the clarity of Abraham and Michael along with the heart of Emmanuel.

Creating MoneyOne of the books that has really fed and inspired me is Creating Money. Sounds like a materialistic cash-in at first but really it is about the individual’s relationship to self and the universe and the impact of those relationships on quality of life. Money itself is framed as a physical/cultural form of the eternal inner qualities of abundance and freedom, and as such having access to money—which means not holding tightly onto a static pot of money but engaging in a dynamic, expansive flow of money—is a perfectly valid and worthy pursuit.

Ups and downs

18 October 2006

I’ve read the second abraham book (The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intention) and am nearly finished the third, which I discovered hot off the press at Amazon (The Art of Allowing). Over the last couple of weeks I have found myself going from ecstatic and blissful states into more of a kind of contented steady state, with some occasional grumpiness intruding. In reading through the third book, however, I feel more in control of my states.

Ask And It Is Given

6 September 2006

Ask And It Is GivenI’ve been reading Ask And It Is Given by Esther Hicks and the spirit entity she channels known as Abraham.

It’s one of those books that just leapt out at me the last time I went to the bookshop. Throughout my adult life I have occasionally felt the pull to go to a bookshop and find ‘the’ book that’s just waiting for me, the right book for me at the right time, and this is one such occasion. It’s basically the best book I’ve ever come across on manifesting and connecting with the Divine (or Source). Totally inspiring and clear.
