For a long time I have been informed and inspired by many great spiritual teachings. I have read and studied a huge amount, and even interacted with a few teachers. There are of course many teachings (and teachers) out there, and the quality varies a lot. Over the years, though, I have gradually refined my tastes and honed in on a few sources which I regard as truly valid, useful and generally excellent.
The Michael Teachings
The Michael teachings comprise a body of channelled knowledge and wisdom which has been accumulating since the 1970s. The source of all this is a group of souls who have all completed their cycles of reincarnation and are now serving as a kind of spiritual information service — a sort of ethereal Wikipedia. The group is known as Michael, for no other reason than that the last member of the group to incarnate happened to have the name Michael in that final life.
Here is a sample of Michael’s style:
THE NAME WE ARE CALLED IS MICHAEL. THAT IS A CONVENIENCE AND NOT A TRUTH. ONLY ONE SMALL FRAGMENT OF THIS ENTITY HAD THAT NAME. WE ARE INTEGRATED FRAGMENTS OF A LARGER ENTITY AND WE COME TO YOU FROM THE CAUSAL PLANE. WE HAVE COMMUNICATED THIS WAY FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE HUNDRED YEARS.
The Michael teachings cover the nature of the soul, its evolution, and its relationship to human personality. At the core of the teachings are the concepts of “soul age” (stages of evolution), “roles in essence” (seven soul types) and “overleaves” (the personality traits adopted for the course of a lifetime).
Through a proper Michael channel (there are several of them about) it is possible to learn of one’s own personality and soul nature. One of the best moves I ever made was getting my own channelled by one of the original Michael channels in the San Francisco Bay Area. For the record, I am what Michael calls “a 5th level Mature Scholar in the Perseverance mode with a goal of Growth, an Idealist in the Moving part of the Emotional centre, with a chief feature of Impatience and a secondary of Self-Deprecation.”
The Michael teachings have totally revolutionised my understanding of the bigger picture of who I am and why we are here. Much of what I now read and think about suddenly makes a lot of sense once I frame it in terms if the Michael teachings. Every person in the world is now comprehensible to me as being somewhere within the matrix of soul age, role in essence and overleaves.

Pathwork: The Guide teachings
The teachings known as “the Pathwork Lectures” are possibly the best kept secret in personal and spiritual growth. They were channelled in the 1950s, 60s and 70s by a woman called Eva Pierrakos, and are attributed to an entity known only as the Guide. With amazing clarity and wisdom, they emphasise the need for honest self-examination on the path of self-realisation.
According to the Guide, our everyday consciousness serves as a bridge between the highest and lowest parts of ourselves. We must turn our conscious attention to that which has become unconscious or hidden — our childish, self-centered and negative aspects. We must then turn our attention to our higher nature to help us heal and transform these lower aspects.
The Guide’s focus on confronting and transforming the darkness within distinguishes these teachings from many others. The Guide insists that the darkness within us cannot be glossed over, ignored, or suppressed. It has to be confronted, brought to light, and transformed.

Wow what a fantastic website you have! I love how you have so clearly layed out the Michael material, and flavored this with the Pathworking. I wanted to explore the Warrior soul more to help me understand someone close to me, and reading your synthesis of the materials really helped. Also as I was reading I kept seeing the teachings from the pathworking lectures and that surprised me. Just lovely. Thank you. One question…do you plan on incorporating the Seth materials? For me personally I find those books the most in-depth and profound literary works that I’ve ever had the pleasure of discovering. What a gift. And have I had some laughs reading those books too! I love the humor along the path of development that can sometimes be so serious. He’s one remarkably funny causal dude:)

Yes, the Seth teachings are among those I intend to get to at some point. As a single-minded Scholar I focus on one thing at a time, though, and for the moment I’m looking more closely at the Guide… But I will get there!

Great to hear Barry! I’m one of those all over the place artisans, and can appreciate your scholar self and what you’ve put together on your site. I look forward to the Seth materials being added. I love the Guide, and do say this has been the most practical and transformational material along my path in this life. I’ve been working with those lectures for over a decade and what a process. Took some time to really see beyond the religion and christianity, especially regarding the Fall. I continually work with the teachings, and they are a permanent part of my life. Another gift, although not so known as the rest. Thanks again.
